The internet is an important part of my artistic process.

I need an environment where everything has its rightful place in order to be comfortable.

words are lies. words are the revised and condensed versions of our thoughts, and therefore things inside of our heads will never see the outside world, or see the inside of others heads, because that idea, in it's original form, will have to be transfigured into words or images or motions and then interpretted by other people's minds and those minds interpret things differently than our own and so communication is like a big game of telephone. this is why our world is so messed up, but at the same time we are growing and moving forward because we are being influenced by thtese abstract ideas that exist in the inbetween moments of minds and inflence us to create new ideas that will intureninfluence us.

Still getting settled into town and classes, but now my workspace in my room is situated and things are a little bit more stable. Now I can have an atmosphere to think?

Statement:

This semester, through this class and my own time, I would like to discover where I am, what I am, and what I want to do. I am on the beginning of the stage of life where things are uncertain and futures are unstable, and defining oneself as a person (and subsequently as an artist) is our task. BUT when I say defining I do not mean a FINITE definition. I mean a broad, simple, ever-changing, basic, the cornerstone or building blocks of ideas or personality that will grow and blossom in the next 50 years.

My simple goal is to be a sponge. A better sponge. A sponge that remembers what has happened, and learns from experience and exposure.

I am also trying to define what my thoughts/ideas are, and what ideas I have taken from others (and, if these ideas have been taken from others, have I taken them because I like them and I agree with them, or were they taken out of blind faith and should I re-evaluate them, to see if I really believe in them or if they are just someone else's ideas).

On a more focused note: I want to experiment. To work with: sculpture in all forms, wood, fibers, paper, drawing, wet things, dry things, old things, dirty things, odd things, flat things, image things, functional things. I will confront the trend I have developed of being afraid of/disliking the use of color in my work (things tend to have a neutral palate) and after the confrontation either embrace or reject the trend.

I also will try to develop themes, discover ideas, mold thought processes/idea machines that interest me, hone in on subject matter/issues/events/ideas/thoughts/things in the world around me that interest me and that would influence my creativity.

I would like to become more knowledgeable about the world of art and the world around me. And it is my deepest hope that these things co-mingle and exist on the same plane. If they turn out not to, I will make them.

had my review today. what fun.

had a few panic attacks last night. and was very disappointed and sad when i got to my review set up and nothing had gotten into the show. but after my review with g-swav and marsha, things were better.

they put in three things.

i love fine arts.

i have to research things over this summer.

Right now I try not to think too much.

There is a mentality that I am trying to leave behind.

Full of inhibitions and second guesses and shyness.

The mentality of the now involves open

but

not calling them ideas

rather

just belonging to what happens and

then I become annoyed.

because there aren't other people around me doing the same thing.

and that limits my thought process.

so if I seem off putting.

if i seem quiet.

If I seem like I'm not listening.

it's probably because i'm not.

thought process:

i need people. i can't shut them out. other people need to be my base for doing what i love to do and being able to.

but do they really need to be?

IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO TALK TO PEOPLE AND TO LOSE MY INHIBITIONS.

is it really that necessary?

I'm becoming more and more lost to internet.

I realize that it is horrible. BUT IN MY CURRENT SITUATION IT'S ALL THAT I CAN DO.

where is my car to travel?

where are my friends to take me?

and the same goes, i won't make it easy. i will tell you the truth, through my actions or my words.
